On January 12, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in collaboration with Qatar Foundation, officially launched “Warif Academy,” the first government-run academy in Qatar dedicated to students with multiple disabilities. This pioneering initiative is designed to offer specialized education and therapeutic services for students with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities that lead to severe functional limitations.
Warif Academy is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students aged 3 to 21 years who are not currently enrolled in traditional schools. The academy will focus on developing life skills, sensory abilities, and social communication, ensuring that every student has access to equal educational opportunities. Services will be delivered in Arabic, making the academy accessible to a wide range of students across the country.
This launch is part of the Ministry’s ‘My Special Track’ strategic program, which aligns with Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy and contributes to the country’s broader goals outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. Through Warif Academy, the government aims to enhance the quality of life for students with disabilities and support their personal and academic growth.
The academy’s operations begin immediately, marking a significant step forward in the nation’s efforts to promote inclusivity and accessibility in education.
