The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has officially launched its annual Ramadan Discounted Consumer Goods Initiative, providing consumers with the opportunity to purchase more than 1,000 essential products at reduced prices. This initiative, in partnership with major retail complexes across Qatar, aims to ease the financial burden on shoppers during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement released on February 17, MOCI highlighted the significance of this early launch, which allows consumers to take advantage of the discounted goods well before Ramadan begins. The initiative will remain in effect until the end of the holy month, ensuring that families have access to essential items at lower prices.
The range of discounted products includes key food staples such as flour, sugar, rice, pasta, chicken, cooking oil, and milk. Additionally, non-food items that are often in higher demand during Ramadan, like tissues, aluminum foil, and household detergents, are also included in the initiative.
MOCI reassured consumers of its commitment to monitoring retail outlets to ensure adherence to the discounted pricing policy. Shoppers are encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity while remaining vigilant. The ministry has urged consumers to report any pricing violations through its official communication channels.

To help identify the discounted products, consumers can look for a special label displayed on eligible items in stores.
As the holy month approaches, this initiative not only supports families in managing their budgets but also fosters a sense of community by ensuring everyone has access to essential goods during this special time.
