Maamoura Police Station

The Al Rayyan Police Station is situated in the city of Doha, Qatar. The state of Qatar has placed a high priority on ensuring security, tranquility, and public safety since its inception. To achieve this objective, a police force was established to maintain order, security, and protect lives, honor, and public and private property.

The first regular police force was formed in Qatar on September 10, 1949, with the establishment of the Doha Department. The department was initially located in Souq Waqif and provided security and protection to citizens while maintaining order through mobile patrols and stationary guards at vital locations in the capital. Additionally, the department regulated traffic and conducted all police duties, including criminal investigations, following up on suspects, referring cases to court, and deporting individuals as required.
